logiREF-DISP-MicroZed reference design can be downloaded as a cross-platform
Java JAR self-extracting installer. Please make sure that you have a copy of the JRE (Java Runtime Environment) version 6 or higher on your system to run Java applications and applets.
Double-click on the installer's icon to run the self-installing executable to unpack and install the reference design on your PC. |
Start the downloaded Xylon installer and, if you are happy with the evaluation license agreement, select the installation folder and proceed with the installation. The precompiled touchscreen HMI demo for the MicroZed™ Evaluation Kit is stored in the
ready_to_test folder within your installation folder. Please copy the content of the
ready_to_test folder to the root folder of the FAT32 formatted SD card and run the demo by following the bellow steps. The full list of of design deliverables is described

IMPORTANT NOTE: To prevent possible MicroZed (Rev B and Rev C) damage, please unplug the USB-UART cable before shutting off the I/O Carrier Board! |
Setting Up the Demo Hardware (Click photos to Enlarge!)

Plug the MicroZed board in the I/O Carrier Card as it is shown on the left photo. Plug the programmed SD card to the card slot J6 on the MicroZed System-on-Module (SOM).

Plug the PMOD-ALI3 Sharp7 LCD adapter to the I/O Carrier card (Step 2) and use the DisplayPort Cable to connect the PMOD-ALI3 adapter and the LCD (Step 3). The LCD adapter and the video cable are standard parts of the 7-inch Zed Touch Display Kit from Avnet Electronics Marketing.
Plug in the power supply cable and switch on the SW5 switch on the I/O Carrier Card. The MicroZed will automatically boot to Linux ilixi User Interface application launcher.
